Year In Review: 2022
In the past year, Center for Creative Education has grown and changed. As we strive to meet our mission to transform teaching and learning, we have evolved to meet the needs of the moment, hitting many major milestones along the way. Here is a look back at some of the highlights of our 2022.
April: A Colorful Evening To Remember
In April, CCE hosted our annual spring fundraiser, “A Colorful Evening To Remember.” Chaired by Diane and John Sculley, the vibrant event was themed around a children’s book written by CCE board member Eric Telchin called The Color Factory. Fittingly, guests arrived in colorful attire and were treated to dinner, remarks from CCE leadership, and a performance from The Foundations School’s third grade class. It certainly was a night we won’t soon forget!
May: Last Day of School
In May, The Foundations School wrapped up our first full academic school year. We started The Foundations School in January 2021, with the goal of improving educational outcomes for students in underserved communities and using the arts to break the barriers of traditional learning. When we started the school year, only 33% of our third grade students were reading on or above grade level. But by the end of the year, that number increased to 67%. We also succeeded in making The Foundations School a safe and happy place for our students. By the end of the school day, most of them didn’t want to leave!
August: Welcoming Students To Our New Campus
In August, we welcomed our students and families from The Foundations School to our new campus in West Palm Beach. Our new space has allowed us to serve more students than ever before, in an environment designed for creative learning. Whether the students returned from our first year or started their journey at The Foundations School this fall, everyone loves their “fancy” new school!
December: Grand Opening
Finally, in December, we welcomed our long-time supporters and friends to see our new campus for themselves! Our grand opening event included a welcome breakfast, remarks by CCE’s leadership team, a performance from the second grade class, and interactive tours of our new facility. This was the perfect event to highlight CCE’s impact on the community as we look ahead to a bright future.
