The Charles Lafitte Foundation Supports CCE!
A recent grant of $15,000 was designated by the Foundation for outreach and training at CCE. According to Jerry Crank, Chief Programming Officer, the monies will help in a variety of ways.
“CCE has increasingly committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for the children we serve. A crucial component of that quality, professional development is often overlooked or underfunded. These funds will help assure that CCE has a team that is well prepared and valued by our organization and our funders to be leaders in arts education.”
Jeffrey and Suzanne Citron established the Charles Lafitte Foundation in 1999 to help people help themselves and the others around them to lead healthy, satisfying and enriched lives. The two believe in the power of the individual and how one person can inspire a group and then a community to realize even greater goals. Successful entrepreneurs, the couple recognizes that creativity, innovation, initiative and risk taking are essential to achieve meaningful outcomes.
“Art can be the inspiration that changes a child’s life,” Suzanne Citron points out on behalf of the couple. “As educational funding becomes more limited, exposure to the arts is often eliminated from today’s curriculums. CCE has created an innovative outreach program that integrates art education into existing academic subject areas such as literacy, science, math, and history. We are honored to provide CCE with a $15,000 grant to support these efforts and help expand the reach to more students.”
