$160.00 per course | Take a Summer Course, ‘Virtually’ and have the registration fee waived for our 2020-2021 evening ‘21st Century Skills Building‘ program year beginning in August!

STUDENTS IN NEED OF PHOTOSHOP, FINAL CUT PRO, AND/OR TOON BOOM (ANIMATION) PROGRAMS WILL RECEIVE THEM FREE OF CHARGE WITH REGISTRATION. Instructors will work with students to install any and all necessary programs to take each course. Licenses will only be available for the nine weeks of our Summer Course offerings.

In-Person
Following CDC safety guidelines we are re-opening the MacLab for our Summer Digital Literacy courses for Middle and High School students.  With the safety guidelines in place, the MacLab can only accommodate 10 students at a time.  The students who are currently enrolled will have priority, but ALL are welcome to inquire about availability.  The courses will also remain available virtually for those unable to attend in-person.

Animation

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Fridays: Virtual, Open Lab Time w/Instructor | 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Learn the basic concepts and processes to create 2D animations for cartooning, TV show (animated) production, and overall story-telling.  This class is taught with the industry standard program, Toon Boom-Harmony. Students are encouraged to have their sketchbook always at the ready.
INSTRUCTOR: Erick Marquez
Erick Marquez is a published comic book artist, sculptor, and muralist, with a style that’s bold and unique. He is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute.His professional experience began with an internship at Warner Bros./DC Comics in New York City and has created for a wide array of clients, ranging from AT&T/Verizon to Conan O’Brien’s comic book biography.Aside from being a full time freelance artist, Erick teaches visual art and music, locally, in workshops and studios.

Final Cut Pro | Photoshop | Digital Marketing

Mondays & Wednesdays | 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Fridays: Virtual, Open Lab Time w/Instructor | 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Course to provide ‘real-world projects’ that pair student abilities and skills to assist CCE Teaching Artists in producing virtual creativity lessons.  These live and pre-recorded lessons are part of a growing catalogue accessible on the CCE website and social media outlets for parents, students and teachers. These age-appropriate creative art lessons are intended to help students, teachers and parents during the pandemic and make all learning more accessible and engaging.
INSTRUCTOR: Dwayne Taylor
Dwayne came to CCE from the City of West Palm Beach Youth Empowerment Center where he developed and managed the Digital Literacy program that helped to reduce youth crime in the Northwood area by 25%.He teaches classes in Final Cut Pro, film making, and the entire Adobe Creative Suite. Dwayne is also the Owner of Taylor Productions and the CEO of 3Tentertainment which keeps him updated on the fast moving technological advances and industry trends. Dwayne holds a BFA in Film and Television from the University of Southern California (USC).
