It’s Giving Tuesday!

Today is Giving Tuesday. For the last ten years, the global community has come together to honor this day as a time for radical generosity. We know that you have many options when choosing an organization to support, but we hope that you will consider a donation to the Center for Creative Education. 

Our mission is simple: transform teaching and learning by integrating creativity and the arts into academic subjects. In the last 27 years, we have evolved to meet this mission. We started by training teachers in arts integration. Eventually, we started providing direct services to students through a variety of afterschool programs across the county. Once we moved into our own space, we began offering in-house afterschool services, bringing students to our site in Northwood Village. 

In January 2021, we tackled our most challenging endeavor yet: The Foundations School. This is a K-3 independent school that focuses on arts integration and improving literacy rates. A school like this is desperately needed in our county, where nearly half of all third graders aren’t reading on grade level. In the area we serve, that number is closer to 75%. 

Our plans for the future are ambitious. In November, we broke ground on a new site that will allow us to expand The Foundations School and our other in-house offerings. The new site will feature a theater, a visual arts and media center, an art gallery, and more that will allow us to better serve our students and the local community.
