School Connections: Palm Beach Day Academy

Recently, Palm Beach Day Academy’s sixth grade class visited The Foundations School to forge new connections and celebrate the growing relationship between the two schools. When the students from Palm Beach Day got off the bus, they split into three groups and paired off with different classes from The Foundations School. From there, the students rotated between three activities.

For the first activity, students played outside with the playground equipment that the Palm Beach Day sixth grade class generously donated to The Foundations School during the holiday season. For the second activity, students played games and did activities with each other in the classroom. Some students read books together, while others created things out of Play-Doh, Legos, and more. Lastly, for the third activity, students from The Foundations School gave a tour of the building to the visiting students.

The halls filled with laughter and chatter as students exchanged stories about their lives and what they do in school. For Palm Beach Day Academy students, it was an opportunity to get to know the students whose lives they had already greatly impacted. For the students from The Foundations School, it was a chance to say thank you, to share, and to see that the kind people who gave them a holiday gift were children just like them.

We are looking forward to continuing to build our relationship with Palm Beach Day Academy. School connections like this ground us in our local community and allow us to showcase our unique methods of teaching and learning to other educators and students. Thank you, Palm Beach Day Academy, for your generosity and openness to seeing what we’re all about. We look forward to seeing you all next time!
