The Start Of A New Journey: Our Groundbreaking Event
This is an exciting time for the Center for Creative Education. On Wednesday, we broke ground on our new campus, which will open in Summer 2022. This new site, which will include over 80,000-square feet of space shared between two buildings, will allow us to reach new heights and expand our educational services at The Foundations School and beyond.
The groundbreaking event marked a celebration of all our organization has accomplished so far and all our goals for the future. But our excitement was tempered by sobering statistics that show just how dire the education situation is in our county, particularly when it comes to the number of students reading on grade level. In the area surrounding our new location, the number of third graders reading on grade level is just 25%.
“This is why we made the decision to start a school,” CEO Bob Hamon said at the groundbreaking event. “That is the reason you are sitting here today as we embark on the journey to create an environment where we are fully committed to ensuring that all students acquire these foundational skills to be successful, regardless of their socioeconomic status or race.”
“Our community needs a solution,” Hamon continued. “There are lots of communities that need a solution.”
This new campus is a big step, but it is one we are ready to take. If you value a good education and would like to support our work during this period of growth, you can donate to our organization here.
